Sept Updates Meeting + new eDNA Service + California Biodiversity Week 2020
Catch up on all things CALeDNA this Friday, Sept. 11th and join us virtually in the field Saturday, Sept. 12th. Take advantage of our new eDNA data service offer!
Two events, two Zoom links, one brand new eDNA service, read more below!
The summer’s winding down, and our researchers have tons to share at this month’s update meeting. Join us via Zoom on Friday, September 11th at 11AM PST to hear more about the diverse work our team is working on. Bring your friends and your questions!
In response to many people asking to generate eDNA data for their own biodiversity surveys, we're thrilled to share that CALeDNA can now provide eDNA data as a service! This can complement education modules and naturalist trainings as well as provide publication-quality data to experiments. Check the link below for more details.
We’re also excited to announce we’re participating in this year’s California Biodiversity Day celebration hosted by the state. All are invited to join us on our first virtual field trip to the Los Angeles River this Saturday, September 12th at 10AM PST. We’ll be discussing our Los Angeles River project in greater detail and announce our first ever CALeDNA contest where the winners will get to choose a site to extract and study its environmental DNA! In addition, our LA River team will discuss several ways to get involved virtually as community scientists. We’ll do a brief walkthrough of one of our sampling sites and show how we collect our sediment samples. Questions, comments, and concerns will be answered in real-time via Zoom. For those who can’t join us live, this trip will be recorded and uploaded for everyone to watch later:
