And we’re back! We hope 2022 has been kind to you so far. For us, it’s shaping up to be an interesting summer. We built a field team to travel the state in a major collection effort to measure diversity before and after wildfires.

Our Aspire team has collected samples all over the state!

We have bioblitzes happening every month now! These are eDNA sample collection events that are open to community members who can join our team and collect samples of soil, water or sediment that will be archived as a frozen collection! We will use these samples to learn about changes in biodiversity. To learn more about our current projects check out our blog! Join us for a bioblitz!

Bioblitz team at Swanton Pacific Ranch checking out some newts from the stream!
Pinto Lake bioblitz kicking off!

LA River team taking water samples and getting kicks out of it!

We also hosted an artist Brad Necyk who is passionate about communicating science with art - something we support very much! Check out his video of our bioblitz at the gorgeous Big Creek reserve!

Stay tuned, be well and we hope to see you in the field!
