Happy Summer, everyone!
We have been taking some time to focus on improving lab methods, to train students, and to organize a set of bioblitzes for the Fall. We welcome your input on where to collect environmental samples this Fall. We’re interested to hear from YOU on where there are habitats that look special and where they are changing. We want to hear from you on where there are local programs you might already be involved with that could use some eDNA data, or perhaps want to contribute samples to our freezer collection so researchers can ‘go back in time’ by sequencing them in the future. With California wildfires, your collections have already become tremendously valuable to measure what biodiversity was like ‘before’ wildfire set in (since we can’t know where fires will occur). Join our discussion tomorrow or send us an email to share your wishes for how CALeDNA can better serve you and your network.
Our meeting, as usual, is at 11AM on the 2nd Friday of each month. This time we have a new zoom link, so please follow the button below to access the zoom link. Thanks!
